About Project

The project involved creating an eLearning module based on the content of the Kenya Learner Driver Handbook to educate learners on fundamental driving rules, vehicle control techniques, and emergency procedures. The client, the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) in Kenya, is a government agency responsible for regulating and coordinating the transport sector to ensure road safety and transport efficiency. By developing interactive simulations and scenarios, the eLearning content aims to prepare learners for the rider license exam, enhance their driving skills, and promote safe driving practices on Kenyan roads.

The target audience for the eLearning module based on the Kenya Learner Driver Handbook includes individuals seeking to obtain a rider s license for light and professional light motor vehicles in Kenya. This audience comprises learner drivers who are preparing for the license exam, as well as experienced drivers looking to refresh their driving skills and knowledge of road regulations. The module aims to cater to a diverse group of learners with varying levels of driving experience, providing them with essential information and guidance to drive safely and responsibly on Kenyan roads.

The Process

The e learning modules were developed following a thorough analysis of the target audience s needs, existing knowledge, and learning preferences. Content curation on the subject matter, was completed with sign offs from Subject Matter Experts to ensure accuracy and relevance. Specific learning objectives were identified and aligned with the project goals and the audience s requirements, providing a focused and impactful learning experience for all participants. The e learning modules were carefully planned with a clear outline of topics, subtopics, and activities. Fun and interactive content was created with videos, audio, and pictures to make learning more enjoyable. Quizzes and tests were made to check what was learned and help remember important ideas.

The e learning content was developed using authoring tools like aNewSpring and Articulate Rise 360 to produce interactive and visually appealing modules. The content was structured logically, with clear navigation and user friendly interfaces to enhance the learning experience. Feedback mechanisms were incorporated to enable learners to provide input and actively engage with the material. The modules were pilot tested with a small group of users to collect feedback and implement any required revisions. Following this, the modules were launched on the East Africa online learning platform, ensuring accessibility and compatibility across various devices. Training and support were provided to users to help them navigate the platform effectively and optimize their learning experience.
